Hormonal fluctuations can directly affect emotions, energy, stress sensitivity, and mental health. Even when cycle-related changes are normal, they can still have a strong impact on how a woman feels in her body, her mood, her relationships, and her daily life.

Stress is often pushed aside and carried through the day — and sometimes through the month. At some point, the system can become overloaded, leading to anger, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, loss of control, internal meltdowns, or freeze moments.

Keeping it together on the outside?

 While inside, your body may feel overloaded, anxious, angry, frozen, or close to meltdown.

In this self-reflective workshop, we create a safe space to share personal experiences, strengths, and struggles. We also practice different ways to regulate the nervous system through meditation, breathwork, body-based exercises, and brain-body tools.

Together, we explore how stress, hormones, emotions, and the nervous system influence each other. Special topics such as perimenopause, menopause, PMDD, burnout, and emotional overwhelm may also be discussed.

The aim is to help you build a practical toolbox, feel more equipped in your body and brain, and recognise signals earlier — before your system becomes overloaded.

What to expect from this workshop

  • Understand how hormones can affect stress, emotions, energy, and mental health.
  • Recognise emotional patterns in your cycle, perimenopause, menopause, or PMDD.
  • Learn how stress, hormones, the nervous system, and the body influence each other.
  • Practice regulation through breathwork, meditation, gentle bodywork, and brain-body exercises.
  • Share experiences in a safe and supportive group.
  • Use guided journaling for reflection. You may bring your own journal.
  • Leave with practical tools to recognise signals earlier and support yourself better.

Guided by Jeannette Bolck

Jeannette Bolck is a licensed NIP psychologist, founder of Counseling Amsterdam, and co-developer of the Brain & Body Method.

She has over 20 years of experience in individual, couples, and group therapy, with a special focus on women’s mental health, PMDD, perimenopause, burnout, trauma, and emotional regulation.

In this circle, she brings together psychological insight, nervous system regulation, body-based work, breathwork, and guided reflection.

Coffee, tea, and a small snack are provided.

Yoga mats and blankets are available, but feel free to bring your own.

Please arrive 15 minutes early so you have time to settle in and feel comfortable.

Wear comfortable clothing.
