Fempower Magazine / The brave client
In this blog post Jeannette Bolck describes the case from one of our clients, a man who bravely tries to deal with the apparent loss of his long time job.

Tuesday morning 10amI close the door after I walk out my clientI sighDeep...of relief? No, because it doesn't feel relieved. From ‘dear, how is that done?’ what is this feeling?

Sometimes there are those clients who stick in my head a little longer, they hit me in a way that doesn't let me go. That's how there was John today. A brave, strong-looking, perfectly dressed big man with a heavy voice. John suddenly sent a WhatsApp last Sunday afternoon and actually voiced it (he didn't like the idea of Two Minute Therapy at first because he didn't call!)His voice sounded even lower than normal but with a vulnerability seeping through. He had completely lost his way and hadn't slept in a whole night. He had heard that the promotion he has been working towards for 5 years was given to a younger colleague and that they didn't know what was still there for him...

He sounded very confused and panicked and didn't want to go to work on Monday (this man had only skipped a day in 20 years because his wife had to give birth)‘What am I supposed to do with my life?I'll lose my job soon?! It's clear they're going to get me out of it!!’

I heard from him that he could no longer think quietly at all and his thoughts were completely over with him. I then sent him a message back and quickly received a text back that he was very happy with it and was grateful to me (as polite as he always is). Today, Tuesday, he came in with his shoulders hanging, jeans and kicked sneakersIt looked like a different man! So he had not gone to work for two days and had slept poorly and also looked exhausted. I felt his sadness and restrained tears and anger. This touched me very much, especially because I never saw this with him before. We had a special session in which there was a lot of old. came up, but it was clear that his job had become his safe beacon and he especially had his strong image derived from it
